According to Apple, AirPods 5 are designed to block up to 50 per cent more external noise than AirPods 4 with ANC.
The improvement is due to a new multiport acoustic structure and improved computational audio algorithms.
In addition, AirPods 5 now support Transparency mode, which enables people to hear others’ voices and sound.
Adaptive Audio automatically switches between ANC and Transparency mode based on the environment.

This is one hour longer than AirPods 4 with ANC, Apple states.
With charging case, listening time is up to 22 hours with ANC.
Improved Durability
Apple has also enhanced the dust, sweat and water resistance.
Apple claims that the new AirPods 5 are made with around 40 percent recycled content.
70 percent of the wireless charging case is made from recycled plastic, and 100 percent of the battery's cobalt is recycled.
